Getting Started

M3 Bitlocker Recovery is the data recovery software for Bitlocker encrypted drive, recover data from formatted, inaccessible, failed, crashed, damaged, corrupted, deleted or lost Bitlocker encrypted drive, etc. so long as you remember the password or recovery key.

Supported Operating Systems

Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows 8, Windows Server 2012, Windows 10, including 32 bit and 64 bit.

How to activate M3 Bitlocker Recovery?

Click "Help" drop-menu -> "Upgrade", enter Bitlocker Recovery Professional activation/license key you received and then click Ok button to active M3 Bitlocker Recovery and then M3 Bitlocker Recovery become full version.

How to use M3 Bitlocker Recovery to recover data from Bitlocker encrypted drive?

Recover data from inaccessible Bitlocker encrypted drive or recover lost data from Bitlocker encrypted drive:

Step 1: Choose the Bitlocker encrypted partition where you want to recover data from.

Deep Scan option can find more files, but will take more time. If normal scan doesn't find your files, please check this option and try again.

Step 2: Enter the password or 48-digit recovery key.

If the password or recovery key matches, M3 Bitlocker Recovery will automatically scan the BitLocker volume to locate any recoverable files and folders.

Step 3: Scan the lost files from Bitlocker encrypted drive.

Step 4: After your lost files are found, please select them and click "Recover" to save.

Enable brute decryption: Please check this option and then try again when you find some recovered files are inaccessible.

Tips: If you cannot open the recovered files with original file names, please try these solutions: 1. Please check Enable brute decryption option and try again. 2. Click "Find more partitions", select the whole hard disk and click Next to scan previously existing Bitlocker encrypted partition. After the scan completes, there would be several partitions found, please select the Bitlocker encrypted partition whose recovery status is Good and then extract data. 3. Contact support@m3datarecovery.com with detailed problem.

Step 1: Click "Find More Partitions" on home window.

If your Bitlocker encrypted drive are not detected by our software, we think your Bitlocker encrypted drive is lost, please check your Disk Management, if it has been become unallocated space, please use Lost Partition Recovery

Step 2: Choose the hard drive to scan lost or deleted Bitlocker encrypted drive.

Step 3: After deleted or lost Bitlocker encrypted partition is found, please select it.

Step 4: Enter the password or recovery key.

How to save current scan session for continuous recovery next time?

Click Help menu -> select Save Session to save scan result to a file for continuous recovery next time.

When you need continuous recovery without re-scanning, please select Bitlocker encrypted drive, enter Bitlocker recovery key or encryption passowrd and then click Help menu -> select Load Session to load the scan result file.

FAQ

1. Recovered files from Bitlocker encrypted drive are corrupted and cannot open, how to solve it?

Please try these solutions: 1. Check "Enable brute decryption" option and try again. 2. Click "Find more partitions", select the whole hard disk and click Next to continue. After the scan completes, there would be several partitions found, please select the Bitlocker encrypted partition whose recovery status is Good and then extract data. 3. Select Bitlocker encrypted drive and then check "Deep Scan" option to try again. 4. Contact support@m3datarecovery.com with detailed problem.

2. When recovering data from Bitlocker encrypted drive, I receive error message : Password or recovery key is incorrect after I enter the correct password or recovery key, why?

Maybe Bitlocker metadata is corrupted so that the software cannot find Bitlocker metadata and prompts incorrect password or recovery key, please contact technical support team for further analyzing.
