My wife's seagate external hard drive is having a problem. The drive is not recognized on her laptop. I have connected it to another laptop and through disk management found that it is RAW file system. How do I recover data from RAW file system? Any help would be great!
RAW file system is not a common file system types like FAT32, NTFS, exFAT, it simply means that it is not recognized by Windows. Therefore all the available file system drivers are unable to mount this file system as a drive. It often happens when the records determining the file system type or location on the disk are corrupted, usually the boot sector.
Since there is no file system in the RAW partition, so Windows prompts you to format it in order to create a file system on it. Please don't format it, otherwise, you will lose the data. The file system has been corrupted, so the data stored on it cannot be accessible, how to fix RAW file system and make data be accessible?
