How to convert RAW to NTFS in Windows 10 without data loss?
Upgraded to Windows 10 from Windows 8. After upgrade, drive D was partitioned and indicates RAW file system. drive C appears Ok. Is there any way to convert RAW to NTFS without formatting Windows 10? Why would Windows 10 change the status of drive D?
Solution 1: Convert RAW to NTFS with CMD
Chkdsk is a Windows utility that can check the integrity of the hard disk and can fix various file system errors.
Step 1: Go to the start menu, type in "cmd" in a search bar.
Step 2: Right click cmd.exe and choose "Run as Administrator".
Step 3: Type "chkdsk X: (the drive letter) /f" in the command window to fix RAW drive.
In some situations, chkdsk cannot convert RAW to NTFS in Windows 10 and reports "The type of the file system is RAW, chkdsk is not available for RAW drives", so please try other solutions as below.
