How to install M3 Mac Data Recovery?

Double M3 Data Recovery installation package, then drag M3 Data Recovery to Application folder.

How to launch M3 Mac Data Recovery?

Step 1: After installation completes, please double click M3 Data Recovery in Applications folder.

Step 2: Enter admin password of your Mac computer and authorize the root privilege for M3 Mac Data Recovery as below:

Notes: If admin password of your Mac computer is not entered, M3 Data Recovery doesn't have the root privilege to access the storage devices so that the storage devices cannot be displayed in M3 Data Recovery.

How to activate M3 Mac Data Recovery?

Step 1: Click Activate button in toolbar of M3 Mac Data Recovery.

Step 2: Enter M3 Mac Data Recovery license key (Please directly copy and paste it) and click Activate.

How to use M3 Mac Data Recovery to recover lost data?

Step 1: Select where you lost files and then start scan.

Step 2: M3 Mac Data Recovery is scanning the lost files.

Step 3: After the scan completes, M3 Mac Data Recovery would list all found files, you can click preview button to preview documents, photos and play videos, audios.

Tips: If the files you expect are not found, please click Deep scan option and try again.

Step 4: Select the files you want to recover and click Recover to save them.

How to recover deleted files from APFS drive?

Step 1: Launch M3 Mac Data Recovery.

Step 2: Select APFS drive and click Next to scan the deleted files.

Step 3: After the scan completes, M3 Mac Data Recovery would list all found files, you can click preview button to preview documents, photos and play videos, audios.

If the deleted files are not found, please try deep scan.

Step 4: Select the files and click Recover to start recovery.

How to recover lost data from unreadable/unmounted APFS drive?

Step 1: Launch M3 Mac Data Recovery.

Step 2: Select the unreadable/unmounted APFS drive and click Next to scan.

Step 3: After the scan completes, M3 Mac Data Recovery would list all found files, you can click preview button to preview documents, photos and play videos, audios.

If the lost files are not found, please try deep scan.

Step 4: Select the files and click Recover to start recovery.

How to recover lost data from deleted/lost APFS volume?

Step 1: Launch M3 Mac Data Recovery.

Step 2: Click "Find Lost APFS Partitions".

Step 3: Select the storage device where deleted/lost APFS volume.

Step 4: Once the previous deleted/lost APFS volume is found, please select it and click Next to enter the password for scanning data.

Step 5: After the scan completes, M3 Mac Data Recovery would list all found files, you can click preview button to preview documents, photos and play videos, audios.

Step 6: Select the files and click Recover to start recovery.

How to recover deleted files from encrypted APFS drive?

Step 1: Launch M3 Mac Data Recovery.

Step 2: Select the encrypted APFS drive and click Next to enter the password for scanning the deleted files.

Step 3: After the scan completes, M3 Mac Data Recovery would list all found files, you can click preview button to preview documents, photos and play videos, audios.

If the deleted files are not found, please try deep scan.

Step 4: Select the files and click Recover to start recovery.

How to recover lost data from corrupted encrypted APFS drive?

Step 1: Launch M3 Mac Data Recovery.

Step 2: Click "Find Lost APFS Partitions" at top right corner.

Step 3: Select the storage device where has the corrupted encrypted APFS volume.

Step 4: Once the previous encrypted APFS volume is found, please select it and click Next to enter the password.

Step 5: After the scan completes, M3 Mac Data Recovery would list all found files, you can click preview button to preview documents, photos and play videos, audios.

Step 6: Select the files and click Recover to start recovery.

If the recovered files cannot be opened, please check "Enable brute-force decryption" option and recover these files again.

How to save the scan result for continous recovery?

Step 1: After the scan completes, click the first button under Search box to save the scan result.

Step 2: Restart M3 Mac Data Recovery, select the same drive, click the menu in M3 Mac Data Recovery and select Load session to load the previously saved scan result for continuous recovery

How to create bootable drive?

Creating bootable drive requires a blank external drive and another healthy Mac computer. If you only one unbootale Mac computer, please directly run M3 Mac Data Recovery in macOS Recovery mode.

Step 1: Click M3 Data Recovery on status bar and select "Create boot drive".

Step 2: Insert a USB drive into your Mac computer and click Ok.

Step 3: Click "Make bootable".

Step 4: The USB drive will be erased and then M3 Mac Data Recovery starts to create a bootable drive.

After that, please insert M3 Mac Data Recovery bootable USB drive into your unbootable Mac computer, and then press the Power button and Option key (⌥) to start your unbootable Mac computer.
