Supported file systems

HFSX, HFS, HFS+, exfat and FAT32. APFS disk is not recognized by M3 Mac Data Recovery V5.6 and will not appear in disk list.

How to launch M3 Mac Data Recovery?

Step 1: After installation completes, please double click M3 Data Recovery in Application folder.

Step 2: Enter admin password of your Mac computer and authorize the root privilege for M3 Mac Data Recovery as below:

Notes: If admin password of your Mac computer is not entered, M3 Data Recovery doesn't have the root privilege to access the storage devices so that the storage devices cannot be displayed in M3 Data Recovery.

Step 1: Click M3 Data Recovery in menu bar and select "Activation" option.

Step 2: Enter M3 Mac Data Recovery license key (Please directly copy and paste it) and click Activate.

How to use M3 Mac Data Recovery to recover lost data?

Step 1: Select where you lost files and then start scan.

Step 3: After the scan completes, M3 Mac Data Recovery would list all found files, you can preview documents (Including doc, docx, xls, xlsx, pdf, txt, html, plist, etc.) and photos.

Tips: If the files you expect are not found, please click Deep scan option and try again.

Step 4: Select the files you want to recover and click Recover to save them.

FAQ

1. M3 Mac Data Recovery cannot display any storage devices, how to solve it?

According to Apple security rules, M3 Mac Data Recovery needs you to authorize the root privilege to access the storage devices, please enter the admin password of your Mac computer when launching M3 Mac Data Recovery.

2. I cannot open the recovered files by M3 Mac Data Recovery, how to solve it?

3. The found files in M3 Mac Data Recovery are not zero bytes, but the recovered files are 0 bytes, how to solve it?

Please check the files in RAWfiles folder, if the files in RAWfiles folder are not zero bytes, please recover them ASAP and then contact support@m3datarecovery.com for further solution. If the files in RAWfiles folder are zero bytes, it means the drive is unreadable or unstable, please change a USB cable, USB port or a computer and have a try.

4. Why do I need to enter admin password of my Mac computer when launching M3 Mac Data Recovery?

According to Apple security rules, M3 Mac Data Recovery needs you to authorize the root privilege to access the storage devices.

5. When I run M3 Mac Data Recovery, I receive warning message: "M3 Data Recovery.app" is damaged and cannot be opened. You should move it to the Trash.

By default, Mac OS X security allows only the apps that are downloaded from the Mac App Store or from Mac certified developers. To fix this error, please open System Preferences -> Security & Privacy -> General tab -> Change the Allow apps downloaded from: option to Anywhere.

6. When I run M3 Mac Data Recovery, I receive warning message: "M3 Data Recovery.app" cannot be opened because it was not downloaded from the Mac App Store.

It is caused by Mac OS X security settings which allows only the apps that are downloaded from the Mac App Store. To fix this error, please open System Preferences -> Security & Privacy -> General tab -> Change the Allow apps downloaded from: option to Anywhere.
